Reflections on Trinity Sunday
How do I name You, You who are One?
Shall I call you Father, Spirit or Son?
Or should I call you by the ways
I discover you in my few days.
Shall I call you by glory revealed in the light?
Or perhaps in the rest and solitude of night
Shall I name you by the scope of your wisdom?
Or the depth and gentleness of my sins forgiven.
What shall I call you, you who created all?
You who loved me before and after my fall.
What should I call you, You who are One
And have been since all time has begun.
Words alone can not fashion your name,
You who in past, present and future, the same.
You who are not limited by time and space,
And has no boundaries but unmerited grace
You are before me, within me and beside,
You in my heart and soul do reside,
You are within, around and above.
What shall I call you, you are Love.
I hope to see you Sunday as we “catch our breath.”
