A Note From Rob ...

This summer was to be one of reflection, prayer, discernment and spiritual renewal for me, a filling of the tank, so to speak. In some measure that has happened but not as fully as I had hoped. My tank is not empty but not quite full, either.

We called this time in July to mid-August and “Modified Sabbatical.” It turned out to be more modified that sabbatical which is OK with me. It has been wonderful to worship in the chapel and time spent in prayer and reflection has been rewarding. Continuing education has been helpful. Pastoral Care has touched my soul.

Beginning on the 16th, we will enter into the second phase during which I will not have responsibility for worship leadership and preaching. We will have a variety of preachers and worship opportunities. Emergency pastoral care will be addressed by UM pastors in our area. I will be in touch with the office and them with me in severe cases. I assure you of my continued prayerful support during this time.

I plan on returning after Labor Day with a full spiritual tank and look forward to what God has in store for us!

On another note, please join us this Sunday evening at 5pm as the Nurture Team is providing an end to summer event in the Fellowship Hall. In worship and in fellowship, we are just not the same without you.
