A Note From Rob ...

I love novels but I rarely read one. The reason is that I become so engrossed in it that I want to finish it as quickly as possible. I will confess to that creating some difficulty in High School when I became enthralled with War and Peace and The Silver Chalice. I got behind on required reading for my classes while being lost in these novels.

This drive to see how it ends can be a hindrance in other parts of life as well. It can especially be an occupational hazard. The making of a disciple and a follower of Jesus is a lifelong story not a magazine article. I know I am a work in progress.

Sometimes we get to an end of a chapter and have time to reflect. In a sense when we took the organ out it was the end of a chapter. The summer has been a turning of the page, so to speak. This Sunday officially marks a new chapter as we dedicate our renewed and enhanced organ. I chose the word renewed on purpose. While it is the organ used in worship and praise, it is a different one, too. It is changed, enhanced and made like new.

It is an historical moment as we dedicate the organ for worship and praise. We are a part of a story that will continue to be told for years to come and as we remember the previous chapters from wood framed buildings to, a sanctuary being built on a corner lot in downtown Wadesboro, to the present sanctuary and now to this moment.

We are a part of an enthralling story, the old, old story of Jesus and His love lived out in this place in many times.
