Seeing hope. What does hope look like? If we are to see it we must have some idea about how it looks.
“I think we got it all” translates into another Christmas celebration.
“Can you start on Monday” looks like heat in the winter and food on the table.
“You passed the exam” looks like an unknown future coming into clearer focus.
But what does hope look like to you?
Paul wrote to a people whose immediate future did not look so promising. Travail, groaning ... words he used
to describe their situation. Yet, he held before them an unseen and perhaps unrecognizable future of hope.
I am asking every member of First UMC who hopes for a future with Christ to be present this Sunday at
10:30 am on Sunday.
